Graduating students present their degree projects in ceramic art
As in previous years, KKAM has invited bachelor’s and master’s students from HDK-Valand, the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts at the University of Gothenburg, to exhibit their degree projects.
The exhibition is without a doubt one of the highlights of the year for KKAM, as some of Sweden’s rising stars in the art world showcase the results of their countless hours of study. As is customary (and hardly surprising) when HDK students gather in a joint exhibition, the outcome is striking. A fantastic exhibition with both breadth and finesse is promised.
The 2026 graduating students from the Bachelor’s and Master’s program in Ceramic Art at HDK-Valand represent a diversity of practitioners who together form a mosaic of what contemporary crafts are today. Each work displays carefully chosen methods and techniques, which provide a fragmentary insight into their degree project.
During the years at HDK-Valand, the newly graduated students have explored themes as diverse as in-betweenness, recollection, escapism and material agency. Creating in relation to these themes has resulted in works that skillfully use material narrative, form, personal archives and humor.
What they have in common is a commitment to understanding the world through the materials of crafts.
