Bea Szenfeld

13 June–16 August 2026

Bea Szenfeld is a Swedish artist and designer, born in Poland in 1972 and based in Stockholm. Trained in ceramics, sculpture, and later at Beckmans College of Design, she left commercial fashion to explore paper as her artistic medium.

Working between fashion, art, and craft, she creates sculptural, hand-made garments and objects using simple tools like scissors, tape, thread, and glue. Thousands of folded or assembled paper pieces form works that are both fragile and monumental—garments conceived as artworks rather than everyday clothing.

Her paper creations have gained international attention: they have been worn by artists such as Lady Gaga and Björk and shown at major institutions. Through this everyday yet delicate material, Szenfeld explores ideas of materiality, the body, consumption, and artistic transformation.

Her work challenges conventions, showing that fashion can be art, clothing can be sculpture, and paper can become something expressive and alive—a blend of visual poetry, imagination, and dedicated craftsmanship.
